Singer faces severe accusations
A statement by Giovanni Zarrella
Giovanni Zarrella (44) is fighting back against allegations made against him.
It's about a comment the singer is said to have made at a concert about rock star, Herbert Grönemeyer (66).
Zarrella is accused of saying that Grönemeyer was not a real rock musician because he does not play the guitar himself.
On Tuesday (Nov. 29), Zarrella responded to the allegations via Instagram.
In a statement, he said the allegations were "false and defamatory."
"I have never made such a statement about Herbert Grönemeyer," Zarrella wrote.
"I have great respect for Herbert Grönemeyer's work and consider him to be one of the greatest German-speaking musicians."
Zarrella went on to say that the allegations are "an attempt to damage my reputation."
"I will not let this happen," Zarrella added.
"I am confident that the truth will prevail."
