Harris Calls For Momentum On Casement Park And Says Ireland Ready To Assist

Harris calls for ‘momentum’ on Casement Park and says Ireland ‘ready to assist’

Stormont Communities Minister Deirdre Harney has said she is “ready to assist” in getting the redevelopment of Casement Park over the line.

The GAA has been trying to redevelop the stadium for over a decade but the project has been repeatedly delayed due to planning issues and legal challenges.

Speaking at the Casement Park Project Board meeting, Harney said she was “very keen” to see the project progress and that she would “work with all parties to ensure that it can be delivered.”

“I am very keen to see momentum continue on this project and I am ready to assist in any way that I can,” she said. “I believe that Casement Park is a hugely important project for west Belfast and for the GAA community across the north and across the island.

“I am confident that we can work together to deliver a world-class stadium that will be a source of pride for everyone in the community.”
